FILP Friends

Only three friends are needed to run one training centre

FILP counts its funding in thirds. Here is what each share pays for.

Three friends together fund one FILP training centre. In return, that centre gives free IT support back to the community and lists its friends on the wall.

  • FILP Friend

    £1,000

    Three friends together run one training centre.

    • A student is sponsored directly in your name or your business's name.
    • FILP can do IT work for you in return — a website for your business, graphics design, or the IT support you need.

  • FILP Associate

    £300

    Sponsor one student for one year.

    • A full course costs £600, so two associates cover a student from start to finish.
    • You can give the amount, or do work to the same value.

  • Food for FILP

    Any amount

    Support the students' day-to-day costs.

    • Help by offering any IT-related work; what it earns goes to FILP.
    • Donations of any size go towards keeping the centre running.

What FILP is

Free education, and then a living

FILP means Free IT Learning Project: free education for students who are poor, orphaned or otherwise without support. It began in 2019. Its purpose is to make those students genuinely skilled with computers, and to connect them to the global network of outsourcing work.

FILP does not only want to teach them. It wants to create the opportunity for them to earn, and in doing so take something off the unemployment problem.

In time FILP wants a centre in every district, upazila and union of Sylhet and of Bangladesh. Work on that scale is not possible alone. It needs generous, big-hearted people to come forward for the people who really need the help.
